This blog is mainly focused on current legal stories and cases. Because I am licensed in Ohio and Tennessee and living in Oklahoma, I tend to read (and therefore blog) mostly about cases from those states. When I get tired of reading about legal cases, I blog about my dogs and other interesting stories. I try to keep the author as my dog Ella, but I'm not very successful at that. Goal for future: Be more persuasive about Ella being the author despite me being the one who can type.

New dog! New dog! New dog!
We've been silent for awhile because we now have a new dog in our family. Lilly showed up over a week ago needing a family. We think she may actually be Henry's littermate considering how quickly they took to each other and how alike they are. Welcome Lilly!
Just so you know, Henry has continued to work on his tunnel to China. Here he is fresh after an afternoon's worth of work:

Henry's first dip as a Hong
It's beginning to warm up here in Oklahoma, and I'm not having to work right now, so I'm spending time with the pooches and pussy cat. Yesterday, I took Henry to Stanley Draper Lake (the OKC lake and park where people dump dead bodies; it happens to be very close to our house) for a swim. Here's a picture of his first foray into the water as a Hong (who knows if he went swimming before coming to us).
Now, let me say that, while he is part labrador, he was not fond of the water. In fact, he much preferred to run around like a wild dog and have me panic about where he went. When I had sufficiently panicked, he came racing towards me with his ears pinned back against his head. Oh, great fun, great fun.

Henry, a regularly contributing author, protesting economic disparity
As you know, my students wrote appellate briefs about a fictional Occupy situation. They are now in the practice rounds of moot court (and doing really well, if I do say so myself). Here is one of our regular contributors, Henry, practicing the opening to his oral argument and delving into a general protest about this country's economic disparity:
As you can tell, Ella the Dog (the primary author of this blog) tries to calm Henry down when he begins getting too dramatic -- let's use our case law not our emotions.
